App data and permission summary
This page explains what the VariationDesk mobile app collects, why it is needed, and how it supports field teams.
Account and contact details
Names, business email addresses, phone numbers and role information are used for login, team management, OTP delivery, support and audit trails.
Photos, signatures and evidence files
Evidence photos, captured signatures, PDFs and related metadata are stored so customers can prove, review and invoice extra work.
Foreground-only precise location
Location is requested only while the app is in use and only when the user takes a photo, signs, or taps submit. VariationDesk does not continuously track location in the background.
Offline working
If the device is offline, captured site records are kept on the device and uploaded later when connectivity returns.
Operational messages
Email and SMS are used for password reset, two-step verification, team invites and external manager sign-off. These are transactional service messages, not bundled marketing.
